Using Your 5 Senses by Brother Duke Hansen

This morning we will be reading our scripture from the 2nd letter to Timothy. We will be reading from the 3rd chapter and beginning at verse 1. This chapter written to Timothy is braced in the last days with the theme of being a doer of God and not just a hearer of the word. If what you do in your life is not rooted in scripture, you are doing your works to satisfy your flesh.         This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.          Jesus instructed his disciples to preach about the perilous times and the last days. This is why Paul beings chapter 3 with this opening verse. In this chapter, Paul catalogs the various sins and iniquities which are in church assemblies. Job had prophesied of the last days which Jesus would reference in his ministry. His apostles wrote of the last days as well.         2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covet...

Do You Really Want This Freedom? By Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning. We are going to be reading from the book of Numbers. Turn your bibles to chapter 11. We will be reading starting at verse 1.         And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost of the camp.          2 And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the Lord, the fire was quenched.          3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the Lord burnt among them.          4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?          5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the...

True Grace by Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning. This morning I am wanting to talk about grace. Now, the best example of grace in the world can be found in the world of finance. When you purchase something that requires a loan, there's what is considered a grace period for the person before they have to begin paying what is owed. Everyone has a good grasp of this process. Grace to believers is often misunderstood and wrongly applied. Grace isn't getting the good parking spot, getting a promotion, different earthly pursuits. We tend to conflate grace with favor. Those things listed may be favor given to you by God and not grace.         My main point this morning is that Grace is God's power to change us into something far greater than we could accomplish on our own.          One  of the best examples of God's grace within scripture is the conversion of Saul of Tarsus to Paul the apostle. This is what we are going to read and dis...

The Difference Between Niceness and Kindness by Brother Curtis Hansen

This message will be a little different this morning. Some messages from the pulpit are for instruction, correction, or even reproof. Today's message is something you could apply in your every day world. We are going to explore the difference between niceness and kindness. Now, in many businesses, employees are evaluated on the basis of strengths and weakness. In focusing on those two things, they lose their focus on qualities like characteristics and behavior. Your character may not align with what is your perceived strength but rather your weakness. Our walk with God is not just limited to binary, good or bad, choices. Many facets of our walk are colored with various shades of gray.          There's a difference between kindness and niceness. The world defines kindness as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. The definition of niceness is the quality of being nice; pleasantness. Now, scripture promotes...
