What Are You Preparing For? by Brother Curtis Hansen

Christians know the aspects and results of the Holy Ghost but many don't know how to harness the power. When man was created in the second chapter of Genesis, the first assignment given to him from God was work. If you are imbued with power, you grow fruits of the spirit in your life. What you don't know is a hinderance. If you read scripture, the spirit will lead you to all truth. It will be at his own pace. Work is a gift and not a punishment. Work is meant to be enjoyed. Line up your life with the scripture. In church, everyone wants prayer, nobody wants to learn.          To paraphrase Hosea 4:6; my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because they reject knowledge. The hinderances in your life are ever present but they lie in wait.          Do you know how to create presence? Who is the church for? It isn't for the saved nor unsaved, but it is for God. Why are we here? It's for the pres...

Renewing Your Hope by Brother Duke Hansen

This morning, we are going to be reading from the book of Colossians chapter 1. We will start reading from verse 1. I wanted to tell you a little about the church of Colossae. The city itself was at one time economic hub known for its textile production. It was located in the region of Phrygia, which is now modern-day Turkey. The city was also welcoming of many different faiths and beliefs. It also would fuse different faiths together into a new one. This is called religious syncretism. Keep this in mind as we read, because Paul's letter warns about false doctrine.          Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother.          2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colossae: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.          Paul is writing to the faithful and the saints in Christ a...

Guidance and Support by Brother Duke Hansen

This morning's message is going to be about a couple of things. We are going to speak at length about guidance and support. In the Old Testament, David was deep and devout about prayer in his lifetime. There is a path to really pray and communicate with God. David didn't hold back in prayer because he knew that God saw and already knew everything.          Guidance in the word is a distinct direction to guide you toward a goal. You can land in several different spots while going one direction. Guidance does not work without purpose. The world operates by chance. Often, we distinguish guidance as a second opinion from a source not necessarily invested in you personally.          We are going to be reading from Psalm 143 and we will begin with the first verse.          Hear my prayer, O Lord. Give ear to my supplications! In thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousne...

When God Says No by Brother Curtis Hansen

This morning, we are going to be reading from the book of Revelation. We are not going to dive into the end time text of John, but we will be reading a single verse from chapter 3. We will be reading verse 7.           7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;          If God opens a door, no man can shut it. This could be a door of opportunity in your life which occurs. If he closes it, no man can open it.          In the denominations of the UPC and Apostolic church, both operate a lot in emotion. Whenever the holy spirit is present, there's a sense of peace. It doesn't have to be this sanctuary. It can be your home or your workplace. There's a feeling of peace that cannot be duplicated. This feel i...
