Starting To Dig by Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning. We are going to be reading from the book of 2 Kings chapter 3 for our scripture. I wanted to lead off with that as a Christian, if you have children you are raising up the correct way, they should not have to fight the same curses, spirits or evils that generations before yours did. You can arm yourself with the knowledge to break down those strongholds, and you can provide a way through your walk for your children to follow as they get older.          We will start reading in verse 13 of chapter 3 this morning. We will go back to the beginning so you can see the setting and background for what leads to this situation written about in the scripture.         13 And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the Lord hath called these thre...

What Influences You? by Brother Duke Hansen

Good  morning. Happy Father's Day to you all. This morning we are going to be in a couple of places for scripture reading. Our first scripture is going to be in the book of 1 Peter chapter 5 and verse 8. I briefly wanted to touch upon over in Genesis first. More specifically the garden of eden. In the garden, we got to see the first example of influence as the serpent spoke to Eve regarding the Tree of Knowledge. Eve in turn influenced Adam to take a bite of the fruit they were both forbidden to eat. With that influence, we see Adam and Eve's obedience die. Influence does a lot of things to man physically, spiritually, mentally, and socially. Influence is inescapable in life. There are people who live online that profit in money by influencing. Let's look at verse 8 shall we?         8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devo...

The Peril Of Looking Back and Lingering by Brother Duke Hansen

Good morning. Some of the times in our life we learn valuable lessons from listening to others who have lived or experienced more than we have in their life. More often than not though, we are oblivious to any valuable lesson unless we are experiencing a situation that will impart one to us. If we aren't experiencing something on a personal level, most of the time any lesson will not stick. If your life hasn't been modified by the Holy Ghost and the blood of Jesus, your life is weighed down by not only good and bad experiences, but slights, grievances, hurts, pain. It's similar to a rucksack or backpack you carry around on your back. A lot of time, all that weight you carry is what defines you to many people and it defines your character. This morning, we will be reading from the book of Genesis chapter 19. We will start reading from verse 1. We will be speaking about the story of Lot and his family. There isn't too much in ...

From Dependence to Independence by Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning. This morning our scripture reading will be from the book of Acts. Where last week we were primarily in the 2nd chapter, this morning we will be in the 3rd chapter and begin reading at verse 1. The Holy Ghost is helpful and instructing in your walk with God. It also has the capability to reveal all truths to you in order to deepen and strengthen your walk.         Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.          2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;          3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.          4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.       ...
