A Call Of Accountability by Brother Curtis Hansen

You worship God in the highs of life to stay humble. Now there are many times when people are on the high end of life, and their perceived humility is more pride and arrogance. Staying humble and reverent to Jesus is replaced by saying "I did this!" or " I bought that." and so on.          When you get to a point of  fasting, know that fasting is not limited to just food. There are many other things that you can commit a fast towards. You can still be righteous and holy yet you still wrestle with iniquity. Iniquity can cause you to feel guilt or your flesh turn to self justification. In the scripture reading this morning from Isaiah chapter 6, what happens to the prophet happens to us as well. God will take care of your little stuff in life, but it doesn't mean you aren't with iniquity.          So, as you  worship God in the highs of life to stay humbl...

Forget the Past by Brother Duke Hansen

The first thing you have to do following God and being a light to others is the subject we are going to tackle this morning. After you are  born again, God is going to place you in situations, subject you to trials that will build and develop or break your spiritual man. Are you willing to allow things in your life that will shape you into a better person? You cannot be fruitful if you don't grow. You need to know who you are, who God is, and who you are in God.          There are people you know who seem to be motivated and operate by lying always. One of the hallmarks of spiritual growth is you recognizing a lie you believe or worse live for. Taking the rules and principles of the scripture and lining them to your life. Is there a match? Are there  discrepancies or blank spots? Despite this church's small size, everyone is at various spots of growth and walk. This life and walk is ...

The Law and Avoiding Hypocrisy by Brother Duke Hansen

Before we really get into the scripture that is for the message this morning, I wanted to first have you go to Romans 3:31. The flesh has always been resistant to the law and being worked upon to submit unto righteousness. In this verse Paul writes;         31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.         The reason the flesh wants to get away from the law is to move away from accountability. There are churches this morning promoting that the believer  doesn't need the law. The law was for the old covenant. As if we in the 21st century are above the things of old, and we can do everything we did before our salvation because we have become a Christian simply through belief. The law was not establish to be the buzzkill of the flesh. It isn't the no fun zone. The law doesn't prohibit the flesh. Even under the law, King David knew that God did...

Humility Breaks Chains by Brother Curtis Hansen

Before we get into reading the scripture for this message, I wanted to talk about some of the people in the Bible. Many people in both old and new testament had some profound gains and devastating losses. The professed Christian today doesn't steward pain very well. No one is experiencing the losses like Job had or driven out of their country like David was while Saul was king. We tend to put a  disagreement with someone on that level though. We elevate a snarky reply to something we posted on social media as persecution. If we look at slights and disagreement as pain, what are we when we actually face hard times? How do we function when we are in the valley or wilderness?           This morning we will be reading from Genesis chapter 50. We will be reading from verse 14 to 21.         14 And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his  brethren, and all that went up ...
