          One of the things we should be primarily concerned with today is guarding the door of not only our homes but also to our hearts. In the  Bible there are answers to many of our questions we have, yet there are more people who do not believe nor read any of the scripture. Sad to say that we come across as fools and idiots when we echo the talking point that there is more going on in the world than ever before. The world and its culture is as bad today as it has always been. No amount of nostalgia can gloss over the truth. If you have a steady diet of fear daily and you are not studying the scripture you are in trouble.         Turn to Psalm 40 where we will begin this morning. 1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.           Moving on in our reading we will pick up at verse 22 of Romans chapter 1.         22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools          23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things.         Take notice that in verse 23, the things listed transferring the very nature of incorruptible to that which is corruptible, Paul lists the things which Mosaic law had said was unclean to eat.          24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanliness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves.         You all have heard of the seven deadly sins?           Sometimes the obvious is sitting in front of us for so long, we become oblivious and blind to it. There are many deceptions which the church is more than quick to warn you about when it pertains outside its walls, yet some practice deceits from within to their members. One of the biggest deceits that Christians face is that of apostasy. The definition of the term reads;         The abandonment or renunciation of a religious or political belief.           I am speaking of houses that have cherry picked the scripture, cutting out the fantastic, supernatural, the miracles, the Holy Spirit, the virgin birth. Using science, history, and logic to explain or water down that God intentionally made illogical for man to understand. Reducing the course to actual salvation into some repeat after me prayer.          Let us start by speaking a truth that has been firmly established. The word of God is true and will remain true. There has been a question I have been meditating upon over the past few days which I want to share with you. In the absence of God, what does man do? Whose imagination was it in the founding and building of megachurches? Every successful plan in the business world has roots that begin in the word of God so is right to ask that megachurches are like business as well? Having a big church is against the word of God. There is a statement said about monopolies, or governments; Too big to fail.     The same could be said for church as well. When Jesus came to Earth he wasn't coming to bring peace to man's flesh, he was bringing division. The peace Jesus brings is between God and man.              Our scripture reading is in 1st Corinthians chapter 3. We will start reading at verse 8 and go down to verse 17.              8 Now he that plants and he that waters are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.           9 For we are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.           10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon.           In Paul's letters to the church in Corinth, there were two  issues which he would have to address with the members. First there was the sinful lifestyle that was prevalent in the church. Several of those subjects are touched upon in 1 Corinthians. Paul's goal in writing was bringing up spiritual growth and how the church could obtain it, while also dealing with the rumor mongering amongst the church members who claimed Paul was not who he said he was because his repeated arrests and imprisonment as he was establishing churches. We will open to the book of 2 Corinthians the 10th chapter. One of the points Paul was making in this letter was that he was doing more with the Holy Spirit guiding him than in the flesh.         We are going to read in a couple of places for the scripture text. Our first stop is going to be in John chapter 18, verses 19-21 and then move to verse 33-36. To set the scene for you, Jesus has been arrested and is now before Pilate as well as his accusers. We all know this trial will lead to Jesus crucifixion and inevitable  resurrection.         19 The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.          20 Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the  synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret I said nothing.          21 Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.          33 Then Pilate entered into the judgement hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou King of the Jews? ...

          This morning we are going to read a little from Jesus' famous Sermon on the Mount. If you want to read the sermon in its entirety, you can find it in the gospel of Matthew chapters 5 through 7.
