In the Middle of Life by Brother Curtis Hansen

This morning our scripture reading is going to come from the book of Genesis chapter 32 and start at verse 22. We are going to read about Jacob and his brother Esau, but, it is not the story you may be thinking about.         22 And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two women servants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.          23 And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had.          24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.          25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh: and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.          26 And he said, Let me go, for the day  breaketh. And he said, I will not let the...

Your Truth and The Truth by Brother Duke Hansen

Everyone makes a big deal these days about being God's chosen, but don't really notice  exactly how God wants you to choose him. A surface reading of the book of Job is that the book's overall theme is about patience when the true themes of the book are much deeper. One of the themes is of faith regardless of your situation. The true purpose of the Bible is to show you the truth on many things and subjects, while also confronting your own personal truths as the lies that they are. When you sew faith into personal truth, your preventing and hindering growth in your relationship with the Lord, shortening the potential blessings God has for you.          We are going to begin reading this morning from the book of 1 Peter chapter 4. Blessings in life are not materials, it is the  knowledge in stewardship and responsibilities of those materials. If we don't allow God to withhold things, to put us in any...

Two Are Better Than One by Brother Duke Hansen

Our scripture reading this morning will be from the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 4. Before we begin reading I want to discuss a little about the importance of warnings. Sometimes people misconstrue the exact  meaning of a warning. We need to understand that despite you truly being saved there will still be moments of what you had sown you will reap. It isn't as if God places you under a hedge of protection from that. The difference in salvation is that you have an awareness of your actions and consequences. Now, there are some people in life who do not receive a warning. When God views you and I, he doesn't just see us, he sees our generations back and forward because he is outside of time. There are things that you may have been exposed to or saddled with because of something a great grandparent did. God will sometimes challenge you. There needs to be a maturity in your trials as you grow, when you can see when you are the problem, ...

Filling In the Gap by Brother Curtis Hansen

This morning's scripture selection is going to come from the book of Matthew chapter 19. We will be reading starting at verse 16 to verse 30. It is the account of Jesus speaking with the rich young ruler. There are accounts of this meeting in the book of Mark chapter 10, verses 17 to 27 and the book of Luke chapter 18 starting at verse 18 to verse 30. The rich young ruler is pursuing Jesus to have him answer a question. As we start  reading this story we will see that this rich young ruler is rather wise despite his youth, but, the answer Jesus gives makes him very sorrowful.         16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?         Let's read that question again. What good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? This is a question asked by many people still today regarding salvation. The young ruler rea...
