Amend Your Ways and Doings by Brother Duke Hansen

Good morning. There are 2 different topics addressed in the chapter we will be reading from this morning. Now, scripture reminds us that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. This statement is still fundamentally true today. We are going to be reading from the book of Jeremiah 7 this morning. In the previous chapter, God called Jeremiah to stand at the gates of the temple to address the crowds as we begin reading with verse 1 or chapter 7.          The word came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,          2 Stand in the gate of the Lord's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the Lord.          3 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.          God is giving the peopl...

The Foolish and The Wise by Brother Duke Hansen

In beginning this message this morning, I wanted to note something. Our culture has been all consumed with being public, up front, and in the spotlight expressing all manner of opinions or thoughts. A lot of time, there's money at work with views and likes. Those that aren't trying to be independently wealthy with their platforms, are just abusing and wasting their time typing out every inane thought in their head out into the world. Either that, or they're in numerous conversations trying to win endless arguments.          To read all that, you know we live in a time overrun with fools. As Christians, you're called to seek wisdom in the scripture. You're to be meek, quiet, long-suffering in your walk. Many of us publicly profess our faith, but we also profess everything we think of as well. You are very capable of ignoring God, twist the scriptures to your fleshly satisfaction, and not heed any warning from above. One of...

Gifting by Brother Curtis Hansen

This morning, we are going to go to the book 2 Corinthians. We will be reading out of the 2nd chapter and verse 17.          17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.          There are gifts in the world and there are gifts in the spirit. We talk often about callings but how do we define gifts? We are all called but few are chosen. Look for what your gifts are this morning. What are your strengths in life? Gifts are what things come naturally to you without much effort.          "For we are not as many," we aren't like so many others. We are different and peculiar. "Sincerity" it needs to come from this place in your actions and words. Many of us has lost empathy and need to retrain to regain it.          You misuse your gift when you apply it to outside th...

When God's Leadership Is Compromised by Brother Curtis Hansen

This morning, we are going to read from the book of 1 Samuel chapter 8. We will begin reading at verse 1. The title of this message is when God's leadership is compromised.          And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.          2 Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba.          3 And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgement.          4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,          5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.          6 But the thin...

Dwelling In the Secret Place by Brother Duke Hansen

Good morning. This morning's scripture reading will first be from 2 Corinthians. We will be reading from the 4th chapter. In this chapter, Paul's letter to the church in Corinth is addressing misplaced zeal. We will start at verse 1.          Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not.          Because what God has given you, this living thing dwelling inside, that's the catalyst for his ministry. When you receive something of God, you want to be. You are compelled to tell others.          Your ideologies, thoughts, and beliefs will have you often going between your flesh and his spirit. You bounce back and forth. Weariness is a problem as well as a struggle. Weariness is a weakness in our flesh that the enemy exploits. You need to understand when and where you are weary.          2 But have renounced the hidden...

A United Force Is Unstoppable by Brother Duke Hansen

The flesh remains the same from back in the past to today. We always want to be right on everything, even when we are wrong. We physically grow and change with time yet mentally and spiritually we atrophy.          In the gospels you see Jesus coming against the spiritual authority of the day. The synagogue was more about promoting what the nation of Rome had wanted. Today it isn't about being wrong. It's about not knowing everything. You can live off what your forefathers believed as the plum line and it may not get you into heaven.          The thing that's worried about being wrong is pride. Pride can cause fights, lose time, and wrecks relationships. You can convince yourself so right, in spite of the scripture. You lose out on the truth. In the word, repentance equals the start of your walk. It needs to be a mindset.          If God is working on you about a behavior or...
