Just Maybe... By Brother Curtis Hansen

Turn to the book of 1 Samuel chapter 14. We are going to look at some scripture that goes along with faith being placed into action through the son of King Saul, Jonathan. Starting in verse 1;              Now it came to pass upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man that bare his armor, Come, and let us go over to the Philistines' garrison, that is on the other side. But he told not his father.              And Saul tarried in the uttermost part of Gibeah under a pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people that were with him were about six hundred men;               And Ahiah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod's brother, the son of Phineas, the son of Eli, the LORD'S priest in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people knew not that Jonathan was gone.      ...

The Weight We Carry by Brother Duke Hansen

The scripture we are going to start out in will be Hebrews chapter 12 and the first verse.         Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.         In the span of recorded history there is one thing that is true. God moves fast and man moves slow. God has expectations for his people to meet. The author of Hebrews is writing about faith and of the Holy Spirit. We are compassed about  with so great a cloud of witnesses. We are surrounded by God, even right now.          When you grow older and mature, you realize that you don't need the dozens and dozens of people you claim to be your friend in life. Effective lives are lived with two or three confidants or close friends. The rest in life are m...

What Is Your Spiritual Fruit? by Brother Duke Hansen

Matthew chapter 7 is the concluding chapter of Jesus sermon on the mount which began in chapter 5. The entirety of the sermon and what all Jesus explains to the multitudes is filled with things that still apply to a Christians walk today. Before we settle into the actual scripture of the message, we are going to hit some highlights quickly in chapter 7. We are going to get in a proper mindset of what the Holy Spirit wants to show us.         Now, the very first verse is something even non-believers love to quote in conversation or post on social media accounts like John 3:16. A sign that they may not go to a church because of excuses, BUT they are spiritual or enlightened. Judge not, that ye be not judged. Now, when you are a new believer in Christ, you are coming in from a beaten down and exhausted state. You are in no position to judge anyone. Even if you do, there are stories in this bible demonstrat...

Miraculous Multiplication by Brother Curtis Hansen

We are first going to turn to the book of 2nd Kings the 4th chapter. We will be reading the first seven verses of the chapter.          1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knows that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.            2  And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in thy house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil.            3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.            4  And when thou art come in, thou shall shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all the vessels, an...

When Patience Becomes Your Best Friend by Brother Duke Hansen

This morning let us turn to 2 Peter chapter 1. We will read starting in verse 1.           1.  Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:           2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,           3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:      4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.          5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue...

Let the Rains Fall by Brother Curtis Hansen

We are going to turn to the book of Isaiah chapter 55. We are going to read verses 6 to 11.           6  Seek ye the   Lord   while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:         7  Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the  Lord , and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.           8  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the  Lord .           9  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.          10  For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud...

Stay On the Wheel by Brother Duke Hansen

The scripture we are going to be reading is from the book of Jeremiah 18 verses 1-10.          The word which came to Jeremiah from the   Lord , saying,          2  Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.           3  Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.           4  And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.           5  Then the word of the  Lord  came to me, saying,         6  O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the  Lord . Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of...

What Is Your Cross? by Brother Duke Hansen

While you are on your walk, you need to remember that it is a process. This walk does  not end at any point in time. This walk is not like a intensive course you take for a few years  and obtain a degree after you finish. It isn't something that you write out goals you want to hit  every 3 months. This walk is not a sprint, it is a marathon. We are going to look at Romans 11  verse 25 before we go to the main scripture to focus for this message. Romans 11:25 says;           For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.                     Paul is warning that we should not favor our own thoughts of what the word says. This  is a form of blindness which the Pharisees did not recognize in themselve...
