All In His Hands by Brother Curtis Hansen

The theme or subject of the message this morning is about leadership. The scripture we are going to be reading from is more about the sovereignty of God, living a life of righteousness, justice, and highlighting the contrast between the wise and foolish. We put a lot of emphasis on decision making but don't do a lot of decision management. It's one ting to make a decision but whole other thing to manage that decision. It's why life is best to go one day at a time. Live in the now. Too many of us perceive the past as great because we see the future as bright. Living in the now is torture for us. We either want to be back in a spot where we were perceived our best in the past or we want to jump ahead down the line where we perceive greater things await for us. This is a completely wrong mindset. Live today and be present minded.          We are going to read from Proverbs chapter 21 and we will start our reading with verse 1....

Shine Your Light by Brother Duke Hansen

In the old testament, man's behavior often reaped either blessings or curses. In the first 12 verses of Matthew chapter 5 are the beatitudes. In this chapter, Matthew is writing Jesus' sermon on the mount. The beatitudes are blessings to groups of people who are often seen as unfortunate.           There are the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, those who are persecuted, and those are you when you are insulted, prosecute you, and say all kinds of evil because of Jesus.          We are going to start reading from verse 13 of Matthew 5.         13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, where with shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.        ...

Failure With Pain and Failure With Promise by Brother Duke Hansen

We base a lot of our life off what the world teaches. Our own experiences, emotions, lessons, we take those and form our own mindset. This is what we need to remember as we walk this path with God, as we build our house. Without the Lord, we labor in vain as we build it.          This morning's scripture is going to be Psalm 127. We also will be going to the book of Luke a little later. We will start at verse 1 of Psalm 127.         Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.          2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.          We often go through our days carrying our concerns and issues of life on our back or cradle it about for others to see. It's a burden that we add to when we...

Love, Submission, and Discernment by Brother Curtis Hansen

The message this morning is going to have three key points for us to focus upon. They are love, submission, and discernment. Now, love is somewhat misconstrued and mangled by people and culture today. Submission is key in love because it requires you and I to let allow to happen.           Our scripture text will be in the book of Matthew chapter 22. We will be reading at verse 15. This is a pretty familiar scripture that we will read to some. The preceding verses were a parable Jesus spoke about the wedding feast.          15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.          Some background for you in setting up the next few scriptures. Jesus has entered Jerusalem for the week of passover. The pharisees were once again trying to trip up Jesus in his counsel. They are getting advice talk among themselves. Believers today ca...

What Shadow Are You Casting? By Brother Curtis Hansen

Before we dive into the message that is prepared for you this morning, we need to go to the book of Colossians chapter 2 and verse 8. The primary scripture we are going to be reading from is in Leviticus, but, this verse is something I want you to keep in mind through the week.         8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rdiments of the world, and not after Christ.          It should not be a surprise to anyone of you that we are still living in the period of grace. You are going to still sin, and have transgressions before God, but you are in the time of grace. If you feel the conviction in your heart, you can call out to God for forgiveness or repentance. Don't confuse this period of grace as acceptance or approval. A life lived in sin without conviction is iniquity.          To repeat a point made often...
