The True Source of Strength by Brother Curtis Hansen

This morning we are going to go to the book of Judges chapter 16. We will start reading in verse 17, but, here's a brief overview of Samson. First thing to know was that he was born a Nazarite who would be a judge of Israel for 20 years. Next thing to know was that he was a figure of contradiction as he was a man who had at times great physical strength but he had a moral weakness. Last thing, Samson was a continual thorn to the Philistines, who were oppressing the Israelites. By the time we get to the scripture reading, Samson had fallen in love with Delilah. She was a Philistine woman whom the Philistine rulers were had bribed to discover the source of Samson's strength. This was a mystery to the Philistines, given how Samson fared against them. Samson would trick Delilah with wrong answers starting in verse 6. Let us read verse 17.         17 That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not co...

True Examination by Brother Duke Hansen

There are a few scriptures we are going to be reading from this morning as they all are going to tie in together on one subject. The subject is examining yourself. We are first going to 2 Corinthians chapter 13 and starting at verse 5. We will also be going to the book of Titus. At Titus we will be reading from the 1st chapter and verse 16.          5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?         The question I would like to start with this morning in asking you is how could you  examine yourself and know you are in the faith? Most people would say, "well it is through reading the scripture". The way our minds work that statement has the potential of being dangerous because often time our mind is going to interpret things read for the benefit of the flesh....

It's Deeper Than You Think by Brother Curtis Hansen

This morning's scripture is going to be coming from the book of John chapter 4. We are going to start with verse 1. The subject of the scripture is Jesus' conversation with the woman at the well.          When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John.          2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)          3 He left Judaea and departed again into Galilee.          4 And he must needs go through Samaria.          5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Synchar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.         Now, a little background knowledge before we move ahead in the scripture. Samaritans had no dealing with the Jews in this time. The Samaritans were so  despised b...

Protect Yourself by Brother Curtis Hansen

This morning's scripture will be coming from the book of Nehemiah. Nehemiah is right after the books of 1st and 2nd Chronicles  then Ezra.We will be at chapter 6 starting at verse 1.         Now it came to pass, when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded a wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at the time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;)          2 That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.          3 And I sent my messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?         4 Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; a...
