The Danger of Discontent by Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning. Our scripture reading will be in the book of Numbers chapter 21. We will start reading at verse 4. There will be stops in 1 Corinthians chapter 10, and Daniel 10. Verse 4 of Numbers 21 says;         4 And they journeyed from mount  For by the way of the Red Sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.          5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loathes this light bread.          6 And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.          7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto ...

Are You Plugged In To the Power? by Brother Duke Hansen

Good morning everyone. This morning, I would like you to turn to the book of Psalms. Psalms 40 to be exact. A benefit in reading the book of Psalms and studying the life of David is revealing. There are those who you work with or maybe even family members who have an arrogance about them. That arrogance they carry has them speak the loudest, talk over any group they're in, overflowing in pride, and too often arrogance is mistaken for confidence. If you have confidence you aren't anything like what I said about arrogance. You are strong in being quiet and assured. You should live your life and build your walk in confidence on the rock which is Jesus. We will start this morning at verse 1.         I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me; and heard my cry.         As David begins, he waited patiently for the Lord. You need to have patience in the Lord today when you go ...

Victory In True Submission by Brother Duke Hansen

This week I have seen God put obstacles in different people's way. I know often, people pray for God to remove an obstacle or help aid in overcoming one, but sometimes, God will place one in front of you where your walk is not a straight line up the middle, but, it's one with lefts and rights. The reason he places an obstacle in your way sometimes is that he wants to know your dedication. He wants to know the true intent of your heart and wants you to understand that intent.          Our  scripture reading will be in a few places this  morning. We will be in Ephesians chapter 5 verse 21 to begin with.         21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.         Now, I know there are many of you who hear the word of submission and you immediately think about  control. I am here to say that it is not about control. Ask yourself thi...

Walking Towards Glory by Brother Duke Hansen

As we begin this morning, it is always interesting to think of a certainty in life. There are people who you keep meeting up with through your life, maybe starting in  elementary school,  then high school,  then as adults. Every time you run into them, regardless of their age or their position in life, whether they have a lot or they don't, they still have the same problems. People retain the same gripes, complaints, and grievances. They are tried and true set in their ways never changing. You and I should be aware in not falling into this as we walk with God. A sign of growth is in what bothers you 5 years ago, doesn't even get your attention today. Those things should pass away with maturity. Our scripture reading is going to be in a few spots this morning. We will begin reading in the book of Luke chapter 24 and start with verse 1.         Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning...

A Life Lived In Principle and Life Lived In Emotion by Brother Curtis Hansen

This morning is Palm Sunday. The beginning of the Holy Week for christians. I have been back and forth on this message all week. If God is going to give you the desires of your heart, like in Psalm 37:4, why are there also scriptures of creating a clean heart, having a heart of flesh instead of stone, the heart is deceitful above all?  The point of the sermon this morning is about principle in scripture and if your life built on the principle.          Going back to Palm Sunday. Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey and colt while the multitude greeting him are waving palm fronds and laying their cloaks and clothes on the road in front of him. Those palm fronds were a sign of praise and respect. Jesus riding on the donkey is fulfillment of the prophecy given in the book of Zechariah 9:9. The same multitudes which praised Jesus and shouted Hosannah would cry crucify him at the end of the week.  ...
