Naaman and Elisha by Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning. Today I would like you to turn to the book of 2 Kings. We are going to be reading from chapter 5 and starting with verse 1 and down to verse 14.           5  Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the  Lord  had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.                2  And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.                3  And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.                4  And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus ...

The Goodness of a Trial By God by Brother Duke Hansen

Good morning. If you will, please turn to the book of Psalms. We are going to read some of Psalm 107, and start at verse 1. This psalm is a praise to God. I hope that you see David's  point of view in this song.         O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: his mercy endureth forever.          2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.         Man has passed deceit among himself for generations going back to the garden of Eden. The deceit most people use is on the themselves. If you don't have the Holy Ghost leading and living within you, you won't catch what you're being deceived to in life. You can allow the things around you, situations to blind you, dilute the truth, and you revel in your own  misunderstandings. The real challenge is in controlling your flesh and keeping your emotions in check when...

Faith Placed First by Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning. This morning's message is linked to what we spoke about last Sunday regarding traps and threats to righteousness. Our scripture reading will still be in the book of Romans, but, we will move to chapter 4. The subject today will be about Abraham and our focus is faith being placed first. Now the pharisees often stated in scripture that because they held to the Jewish law they were sons of Abraham. Quick question for you this morning; who came first in the Bible? Abraham or the law? It's Abraham. Jesus would tell the pharisees that as well. He said Abraham had faith before the law. Let's read in verse 1.         What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the  flesh, hath found?          2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.          3 For what saith the scripture?  Abraha...

The Difference of Being Aware and Awake by Brother Duke Hansen

Good morning. We are going to be in several places in scripture this morning, so you will need to keep up. This message is about there's a difference in being made aware and awake. There are believers today who think these times are difficult. These days some think that God is not talking to them, and forget that God had cut of the nation of Israel for 400 years. 400 years of silence before the coming of Jesus. This morning's first scripture is going to come from John chapter 1. We will start reading at verse 35. The setting is Jesus going to the river where John the Baptist had been baptizing.         35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;          36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he  saith, Behold the Lamb of God!         In verse 36, John knew the true identity of the Jesus as Jesus was just walking toward the water. John was a...

Threats and Traps by Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning. This morning we will be reading from the book of Romans. Before we begin, I want to establish that the letters Pull wrote which are in the Bible were not addressing the world at large in his time. They were written to the church. The theme of Romans chapter 1 is righteousness. The christian theme is believe in Jesus but not as an idea. Anyone can say they believe in Jesus and not live like it. In order to believe in Jesus, you have to have a relationship with him. You need to be committed to it every day not on Sunday's or  Wednesday nights.          As you begin to move towards righteousness, true  righteousness that isn't full of yourself, there are three threats to righteousness. 1) The thinking you can still live in unrighteousness because you go to church. 2) Secular religious people. This is a group where they take a verse out of context and apply it to their life and live ...

Count It All Joy by Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning. Our subject this morning is about faith in a trial as well as the differences between trials and tribulations. We are going to go back to the book of James and start at the first chapter and first verse.          James, a servant of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.          2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall in divers temptations;          3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.         James initially did not believe in Jesus when he was on earth. It was only when Jesus died and came back from the dead did James recognize the true nature and power of Jesus.          There is a difference in knowing a person and knowing about a person. People claim to know Jesus, yet, they don't know any of the things ...
