What is Your Frequency Set On? By Brother Duke Hansen

         Good morning. In the book of 1 Corinthians chapter 2 and verse 7, it says the wisdom of God, the oracles of God are hidden from man to understand. Because this wisdom of God is hidden, man replies with imitation or outright confusion on what the scriptures say. The Word of God warns us to remain teachable through life. The words Awake! Awake! in Isaiah or 1 Corinthians or other places, those exclamations are for the church still today, because too many denominations have become blinded to all truths. If you look and study some of the Bible,  or even if you google this, you will quickly find out there are more scriptures that are warnings against deception than there are about salvation. Man's knock off wisdom stops at salvation, which then leads to deception.

        The first question to be asked is how do you and I abide? The definition of the word abide is to accept or act in accordance with whether it is a rule, decision, or recommendation. How do you and I preserve the steps and progress we have made in our walk and retain the lessons learned along the way? Let us go to the book of 1 John chapter 2 and verse 24.

        24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the son, and in the father.

        Let what abide in you? What is it John is referencing? He is speaking about the truth. The apostle Paul warns about leaning into your own understanding in the book of Galatians chapter 6 verse 3;

        3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

        In 2 Corinthians 13:5, and 1 Peter 1:10-11 asks you to examine yourself. It's too easy to examine others for faults but so difficult to apply the same level of scrutiny to our life. Stop walking around in public with the act you have arrived to the end of your walk when you have not because there is always so much more to learn. In 1 Timothy chapter 4 verse 16 Paul writes;

        16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine, continue in them; for in doing so thou shalt save both thyself, and them that hear thee.

        In retrospect, it does not matter where you start on your walk because if you are truly hungry for the truth you will seek it out no matter what.

        We all have a general understanding of frequencies. There are waves unseen to the eye which come from vibrations either in a material like sound waves or an electromagnetic field. In the 80s you had attena that could tune into a frequency to get you a tv channel or radio station. In this manner, our bodies are similar where we receive a wave out in the field, but often have a hard time discerning if its from God or from our flesh. Deception works best when it has the guise of holy to a Christian and it's really sin. The practice of abiding is not some list you find, it is a process to learn. God is not natural to us. He is supernatural. Let's look at 1 John 2:5 for what the word requires you and I to do.

        5 But whoso keeps his word, in him verily the love of God perfected: hereby know that we are in him.

        Keeping the word is the key. Not keeping it one day a week. Sin is not a disease nor an illness. Sin is a choice. In the Mosaic law there are many examples of what action is harmful, which curses, what's good and right. Go through Leviticus and Deuteronomy. Let's look at 1 John chapter 3 verse 8;

        8 He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

        These scriptures don't have ambiguity or vague meanings this morning that too many craft their carnal doctrine from. It is laid out here pretty plain and applies yet today. How do you destroy a plane of evil? There are a few steps to go through in the process.

        1) Make the person aware they are doing wrong. If there is no warning, how is a person to know? Man ignorant of the word will not get a free pass to glory because of that. Verse 9 of 1 John 3.

        9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

        When we get the 3 steps down, we are born again but it is a difficult task if you just stop there and go no further toward glory. Once you have been aware of the truth, you cannot just turn away and forget it. You have to not just receive the truth, but accept it. The second step in the process is;

        2) You have a choice when you become aware. Now, you can accept and receive the truth when you are made aware of it or you can fight, deny, or just turn away all together. You know how someone is in active denial? When they start explanations with phrases like " I can't stop" or "You just don't know how hard", or "You don't know what its like" into their excuse. You know how to quit something? You just stop. It is more difficult to actually do this than just saying it.

        Some of you are thinking "Just stop? Is he crazy?" You know what the Bible promotes to the believer? Abstinence. Jesus even recommended in a sermon it was better go to heaven without a limb or an eye then to sin. Just stop is being aware of your thoughts and actions every minute and second of the day. The process will result in failure repeatedly until you recognize you need to change your scene and who you associate with in life. You can be sold out to the Lord, have a made up mind and still your flesh will not rest. It is working harder on chipping away on your resolve.

        The act of patience is really just slowing things down in your life. There are people who will claim their sins or vices are generational. True, but you are fully capable of finding them on your own. Even with apostolic authority, spirit filled, made up minded sons and daughters of Jesus will have moments of great temptation. Who is the enemy's best henchmen? You and I are. When you're being led about by a demon, it isn't leading nor guiding your life. It wants possession of you, preying on your emotions.

        The third step to the process this morning is 3) Start to learn how to change your outcome. Whatever frequency you are dialing into determines what help you are going to get. A lot of people will deny they need help or that they are in trouble. When Jesus was on earth, he was a Nazarene. They had a strict lifestyle and dietary laws. He could have been in any tribe. We can make an issue of anything because we are immersed deeply in the outside culture. One you are aware, you cannot just blink your eyes and be unaware.

        Deny your flesh or places you go to is not enough. You have to deny the very thought of sinful practice. You got to go far enough where you don't see it nor think about it. How do we arrive at this point? Patience. You can never control your flesh, but you can overcome it if we let patience have her perfect work as James says in his book chapter 1 verses 3 and 4. If you give your flesh an inch, it will take a mile.

        Rebellion and disobedience are natural to us. Stop thinking about it. Stop looking in the direction where the temptation lies. Your flesh is sending a signal on a frequency for help and back up. Stop until it is not an issue. Be aware and get in the process. We are going to look at 1 John chapter 3 verses 1 and 2.

        Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the Sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

        2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

        The scripture is the truth to your flesh. Let us go back a chapter in 1 John. Chapter 2 verses 25 and 26.

        25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

        26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

        The devil is a seducing spirit. The first act he did was with Eve in the Garden. How do we know that? We are still talking about it. You are surrounded and subject to products and sales. They use imagery to stimulate your flesh. We've had whole generations raised in seduction. The idea is sold and your flesh will say "You know, God will forgive you" "Try it once. It won't hurt." We are programmed by advertisements for products from the moment of awareness.

        You have to deal with it when it happens. You can use patience when you are in front of it. Patience can give you perspective if you allow it to work. Tribulation and temptation will come regardless, but, that's where patience needs to be used.

        Perfect does not mean what the world defines it. When you fall and fail, you get emotional and down on yourself. You tear yourself down and beat yourself up. You are at a crossroads where you can give in to your flesh, or you can tell on your flesh. You confide your troubles with like minded people as instructed by the Bible. If you were to just google or sit and study the Bible on the subject of sin and iniquity, your eyes will truly be open. Go one step further, if you look up perfect and perfection in the Bible you will be even more surprised.

        In closing, I want to empower you with this scripture. While Jesus was on earth, in the book of John chapter 14 verse 12.

        12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to my Father.

        If we are to follow in the steps of Jesus, what did he do? He preached to the poor, opened blind eyes, raised the dead, he healed the sick. Yet Jesus says that truly empowered saints, you and I are capable of greater works! All these truths are in the scripture for you to read and apply in your life. What is your frequency set on? Is it on the kingdom or in the world?
