Context Is Everything by Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning. Today, we will be reading from the book of Luke. We will be in chapter 4 and start with verse 1 to verse 13. It should read very familiar to many here this morning as it is the account of Jesus' time in the wilderness and being tempted.          And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the spirit into the wilderness.          2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.          3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.          4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.          5 And the devil, taking him up into a high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of...

To Wait Is to Serve by Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning and happy Father's Day. We are going to read from the book of Joel. If you can, turn to chapter 2 and we will be starting with verse 25. In 2026, we can read the scripture with the knowledge of what the end of the story is through the life of Jesus.          25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.          26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.          27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and no one else: and my people shall never be ashamed.          One of the hardest things for believers is in trusting God's power. God wants your presence. W...

My Kingdom or God's? by Brother Curtis Hansen

This morning's scripture comes from the book of Matthew. We will start reading at verse 9 to verse 14.          9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their syagogue;        10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.        11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?        12 How much then is a man better than sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.        13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand.  And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.        14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council a...

I See You by Brother Curtis Hansen

This morning's scripture is going to come from the book of John. We will be reading from chapter 1 beginning at verse 43 to 49.         43   The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Phillip, and saith unto him, Follow me.          44 Now Phillip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter,          45 Phillip findeth Nathaniel, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.          46 And Nathaniel said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Phillip saith unto him, Come and see,          47 Jesus saw Nathaniel coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!          48 Nathaniel saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered...

The Power of Consistency by Brother Curtis Hansen

Good morning. I wanted to begin this message by saying all denominations in Christianity can agree that the world as we know it is nearing its end. Any time you see two sides in the world at complete opposites from the other and fighting, as a believer you should be taking notice. A prime example is the building tension between banks and cryptocurrency.           God wants you to work in your walk. In scripture the symbolism for abundance, provision, and divine blessing was baskets. If you look at John 6:13 and the feeding of the multitudes, the blessing was collected in baskets. Anything you have as a skill, God may potentially bless later. What are you providing for God today? If you aren't trying to grow the kingdom of God today, you are missing the point of being his disciple. We are going to read from the book of Genesis chapter 30. We will start with verse 25.          25 And it came to...
